Riverbend Academy’s Secondary School

Riverbend Academy academic course selection is enhanced by our Real Life Skills Program. By combining these programs students are not only prepared for University or College but they develop the ability to adapt to our ever changing world.

Riverbend Academy also welcomes International Students. Please contact us for further details.

Classes

Riverbend Academy small class size allows students to develop instructional strategies that work with and enhance each student’s learning style.

The academic year is divided into four terms instead of two semesters. During each term, students take two courses. Dividing the year up in this way, students are able to maximize their focus on the course, have less homework, and less stress when assignments become due. In addition to the two courses throughout the day, students have a homework/project period to work on class work in the school with their peers and teachers.

Students also enjoy a hot, nutritious Riverbend Academy lunch each day (included in the tuition).

TAs with the elementary, our high school students are also taught our Real Life Skills (RLS) Senior program specifically designed for Secondary students. This course allows students to develop lifelong skill that will advance them not only academically but personally and professionally. The RLS Program takes students deeper into these ten skill areas:

1) Self-Discipline
2) Goal Setting and Success Planning
3) Emotional Intelligence
4) Meditation
5) Creativity, Organization, & Learning
6) Decision Making Skills
7) Memory Skills
8) Finance & Money Management
9) Communication Skills
10) Universal Laws

Implementing our Real Life Skills Program as well as practical experience with additional programs like Junior Achievement and Community Service, students learn the skills they will need in our entrepreneurial driven global economy.
